IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR DROP-IN CLASSES
*Updated Dec 31, 2024:
Dear Rewilding Families,
We hope this note finds you and your loved ones well. We write to share an important update about the coming changes to our drop-in programming here at Rewilding Education Farm, Forest and Nature School.

For some time now, we have cherished the opportunity to offer My Grown-Up and Me drop-in programs, knowing that this flexibility has allowed families to engage with us in a way that suited their schedules. And while this model has been a gift, after much reflection, we have come to the difficult decision to transition to a registered program structure, beginning immediately.
This shift comes not out of a desire to reduce accessibility, but from the recognition that our drop-in model has become difficult to sustain due to the variability in attendance. To continue providing the nourishing, intentional experiences we deeply value for our children, the registered approach will allow us to better plan and be able to continue offering these loved programs for years to come.

That being said, we are excited to continue offering drop-in programming on Saturday mornings! Our Farm & Forest Families nature program will be available from 9am - 11am every Saturday as a two-hour drop-in experience, offered free of charge, run by Ms. Becky! We invite families to join us in the outdoor beauty of the farm and forest for a time of connection, play, and exploration. While there is no charge for this program, we will be accepting donations to support our subsidy fund, which helps provide financial assistance for families who may need it. This way, we can continue to offer the opportunity for all families to experience the joy of nature, regardless of their financial situation.

We understand that this will feel like a big shift, and we hold space and encourage you to share any feelings of disappointment or concern. Please know that we are hopeful that, come Spring or Summer, we may be able to reintroduce the drop-in option once again, as interest and attendance increases with the coming of warmer weather. We are open to receiving and we welcome your feedback about your prefered programs. Please share with us your thoughts.

If you have any unused drop-in passes, we want to ensure you are fully supported during this transition. The monetary value of your remaining passes will be transferred to your account, where it can be used toward future registered programs. If you have any questions about this or this option doesn't work for your family, please reach out to info@rewildingeducation.ca and we can support you in what works best. As a small business, we are always trying our very best to offer programs that suit our community and we try to not make sudden changes. That being said, we must also balance the financial realities of rising costs, and our goal is to keep the program costs low for you, while paying our educators living wages. Thank you for supporting our small, woman-owned and operated business.

We also wish to share the update that Ms. Teri has left the Rewilding nest. While we will all miss her presence on the farm and in the forest, we are filled with gratitude for the warmth and care she has shared during her time spent with us. We wish her every blessing as she embarks on her next journey.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and your continued trust in our work. We are honoured to walk this path with you and your children, and we look forward to the many ways we will continue to grow together in the seasons ahead.

Stay wild,
Becky

Example Day

Our time together will be fluid and we'll follow the children's lead in whatever is inspiring their play. If you want to stay longer with the chickens, go for it! Enjoy your time together. This time is for you and your little Wildling. Please do not enter the barn- it is a working farm and the barn has tools in it. Please respect the gardens and watch yours and your littles steps. Even an area that doesn't "look" like anything is growing could be hiding something yummy and we don't want to squish it with our feet!
How to Dress for Farm, Forest & Nature School:

Cool days: Splash pants, rain boots, warm sweater

Where to go:
We are located on the property of Moondance Organic Gardens
8463 5th Line, Angus ON.
You can park in the parking lot immediately to the right when you turn into the driveway near there big white Market building. Walk down the path towards the big gray barn with the green and purple quilt on it. We will meet you there, in the Children's Garden.

What to Expect:
Walking paths are either grass or packed dirt. Please wear appropriate footwear for the weather conditions and to be outside. We do not have a changing area for diaper changes. Please plan accordingly. We have a professionally cleaned porta-potty with a potty seat and a stool for the little feet.

Dogs: There are two working dogs on the property: Shasta (white) and Jager (black and white). We call them our "Doggy Doorbells" - they will bark to alert us that someone has arrived. When they are out on the farm, they are working and will not approach you. They are extremely friendly but when they are out, they are working and they take their job seriously.
